3 Golden Globes Hairstyles that Took our Breath Away
We are one award show into the new year, so naturally, we have deemed 2018 officially in motion. And with it comes the impending hashtags that will dominate the social media stage, new hit songs that will become our soundtrack for the next 12 months, and of course, innovative hair, beauty, and fashion trends that we will see across our social media feeds and magazine stands alike.
To no surprise, the Golden Globes made history with the award recipients’ breathtaking speeches and fashion statements. Not to mention, January 7, 2018 was a night to remember in the world of hair because it also featured some of this year’s must-try hair trends. Here are three Golden Globes hairstyles that took our breath away.
All Natural Hairstyles
We already told you how we named 2018 our official year of boldness. And speaking to that boldness, we have given ourselves full permission to be unapologetically ourselves, and we have seen stars and celebrities alike doing just the same. Throughout the month of January, stars have emerged sporting a style we haven’t seen in quite some time. Fashion icons have welcomed their natural locks with open arms, and begun to include it into their red carpet looks left and right. Coarse or fine, curly or straight, we have honed in on some of the most desirable natural looks.
LA photographer ramona_rosales snapped this gorgeous picture of Viola Davis who effortlessly took her natural curls to the red carpet with unparalleled gusto, while celebrity hairstylist Vernon Francois defined Susan Kelechi Watson's hair with a coily, curled bob haircut. And for those graced with naturally textured waves, we recommend Nina Dobrev’s red carpet look. Incorporating soft, natural waves into this shoulder length hairstyle is sure to turn heads.
After the Golden Globes, there is no doubt in our minds that hair accessories have made their return from the 90’s and are officially here to stay. And we could not be more thrilled about their fierce comeback. There’s something both a little bit youthful and completely edgy about adding a little something-something to your hairstyle. And we couldn’t love it more. Starlets stepped onto the red carpet on Sunday evening decked out in some of fashion’s most desirable pieces. Kate Hudson pulled her swoon-worthy pixie haircut together with a bold black ribbon for the most sophisticated, yet charmingly youthful look, while Katherine Langford dazzled us all with her side-swept cascading curls, held in place by dazzling hair charms.
We couldn’t report a complete review of hairstyles at the Golden Globes if we didn’t mention the way bangs have stolen America’s hearts. There were bangs of all sorts at the Golden Globes––from blunt to wispy, curtain, and completely glammed out. And we can’t forget about up-dos with an incorporated bang. And you know what that means––bangs of all kinds will be making a statement in 2018. Dakota Johnson and Christina Hendricks sported some of our favorite hair looks of the night. Dakota Johnson’s brow-length bangs added the perfect feminine touch to her textured ponytail hairstyle. Meanwhile, Christina Hendricks’ wispy, curtain bangs looked absolutely charming as she presented the award for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series. All we know is we couldn’t be more excited to see where bangs take our hairstyles in 2018.
Needless to say, the night was filled with powerful movements and trendsetting moments that set the stage for the entertainment industry and beyond in 2018. Stay on the lookout for these hair trends taking 2018 by storm!
